چکیده

The increased amount of flights in airports has caused serious problems for passengers and airlines, and brings risks to the system of ground traffic. The sequencing of taxi management is responsible for coordinating the process of rolling the aircraft from gate to track, or conversely, depending on the procedure for takeoff or landing. In this paper, it presents an optimization solution of taxi aircraft at airports using genetic algorithms. For the simulation almost real data from the Congonhas airport in Sao Paulo was used. The simulations demonstrate the validity of the developed model to avoid conflicts and increase efficiency in a congested airport. The model presented shows an improvement of up to 15% in the total time by taxi from Congonhas airport, and enables its application to other airports with simply modification of new routes and flight plans.

A knowledge-based NSGA-II approach for scheduling in virtual manufacturing cells

This paper considers the job scheduling problem in virtual manufacturing cells (VMCs) with the goal of minimizing two objectives namely, makespan and total travelling distance. To solve this problem two algorithms are proposed: traditional non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and knowledge-based non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (KBNSGA-II). The difference between these algor...

Staff Scheduling by a Genetic Algorithm

This paper describes a Genetic Algorithms approach to amanpower-scheduling problem arising at a Petrochemical Company. AlthoughGenetic Algorithms have been successfully used for similar problemsin the past, they always had to overcome the limitations of theclassical Genetic Algorithms paradigm in handling the conflict betweenobjectives and constraints. The approach taken here is to use an indir...

A multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) for hybrid flow shop scheduling problem with assembly operation

Scheduling for a two-stage production system is one of the most common problems in production management. In this production system, a number of products are produced and each product is assembled from a set of parts. The parts are produced in the first stage that is a fabrication stage and then they are assembled in the second stage that usually is an assembly stage. In this article, the first...

A stochastic model for project selection and scheduling problem

Resource limitation in zero time may cause to some profitable projects not to be selected in project selection problem, thus simultaneous project portfolio selection and scheduling problem has received significant attention. In this study, budget, investment costs and earnings are considered to be stochastic. The objectives are maximizing net present values of selected projects and minimizing v...

An Efficient Genetic Algorithm for Task Scheduling on Heterogeneous Computing Systems Based on TRIZ

An efficient assignment and scheduling of tasks is one of the key elements in effective utilization of heterogeneous multiprocessor systems. The task scheduling problem has been proven to be NP-hard is the reason why we used meta-heuristic methods for finding a suboptimal schedule. In this paper we proposed a new approach using TRIZ (specially 40 inventive principles). The basic idea of thi...
